Oh, she was convicted and sent to prison for twelve years for getting caught with $31.00 of weed and it was a first conviction we were told as the story made national news. Sob story, cue strangers coming in to pay off her fines without knowing the entire story. But the poster child for the soft on crime movement is anything but innocent and it wasn't her first arrest.

Patricia Spottedcrow first showed up on the OSCN.net record after a couple of 2003 arrests for driving on a suspended license. We all know how licenses get suspended, almost always a DUI or impaired driving of some sort. Most likely municipal arrests and at that time not posted to the state records on DUI like they are now. Her first reported arrest was in June of 2003, for the driving under suspension charge.

Oklahoma GOP Chairman David McLain continues to break his word with groups and individuals that he had promised to settle a couple of bad hires in short order. Individuals are emailing and calling with the word that McLain is going back on his word to remove political consultant Holly Gerard and mystery man Tom Demont.

The money behind the Oklahoma GOP has already acted to isolate McLain by removing all responsibility for Victory 2020, diverting the responsibility and donations to other more responsible groups. Gerard is a backer of the radical far right religious groups including City Elders, a group that isn't shy about proclaiming their desire to rule over others by any means necessary.

OTU Organization Conducts Slander Campaign in Effort to Elect City Elder Candidate as YR Chairman But Massive Blowback Ensues

David Van of Sooner Politics wrote the most accurate and even handed description of the debacle that was the Young Republicans Convention on Friday night.

The event was presaged Friday afternoon with a Sooner Politic's post exposing a scurrilous attack on one of the candidates for the Young Republicans (YR) leadership. The organization that lost the ballot initiative fight last year on the tax increases, Oklahoma Taxpayers Unite (OTU) had posted an attack on one of the candidates for YR Chairman, Matt Blubaugh , an Oklahoma Army National Guard officer. The OTU attack post claimed that Blumbaugh “embezzled” a significant amount of money.

Senator Ron Sharp Caught Red Handed Lying in a Press Release

Oklahoma Charter School opponent Senator Ron Sharp was caught last week lying about the legal advice given by two state agencies. Sharp is a former school teacher with a PhD in education and has been highly critical of charter schools and specifically critical of Epic Charter Schools.

Senator Sharp had given a press conference on August claiming that Epic wasn't following state law on reporting enrollment using Senate staff and taxpayer resources for the media press release. In the press release Senator Sharp claimed that Statewide Virtual Charter Schools Board (SVCSB) confirmed that Epic wasn't following state law on the reporting of enrollment. However SVCSB had reported to Epic that they had made no determination on that matter because they had no jurisdiction over Epic Blended Charter Schools and thus couldn't make that determination. The group also reported that they had not met with Senator Sharp or discussed Sharp's public comments.

….was the comment on the only email we have received on the GOP Chairman David McLain stories. And we had to look it up, it was a movie in 1960 starring Burt Lancaster, two years after I was born so I can be excused for being ignorant about it.

It turns out that it is an erie parallel for the Jesse Rogers/David McLain story, a movie about a huckster salesman turned huckster preacher, hooking up with a woman who is also a huckster lying about her background and training. And it was loosely based upon the Canadian woman that founded a Pentecostal sect.  Interesting.....

No Meetings Past Five Years?

A close associate of GOP Chairman David McLain was being investigated the past few weeks by the online news outlet The Frontier. A journalist from the group contacted Sooner Tea Party a few weeks ago and we got a small mention in the article on the David McLain/City Elders controversy.

It seems that Gateway Ministries ran by Jesse Rogers, the guy that founded and heads the City Elders group, has held church property tax exemptions worth thousands of dollars per year in property tax despite not having a congregation or holding religious services for more than five years. The story points out that Roger's City Elders group has entered into a contract with OCPAC to endorse and donate to political candidates in the 2020 elections according to multiple weeks of articles by OCPAC. Churches of course are prohibited from electioneering and campaign donation raising and can lose tax exempt status.
