Covidiot Update
They continue to bleat and beat their chests and cry conspiracy theories despite all the logic and facts. Sweden is their current talking point, a country that limited their shut down, mainly the at risk population. But Sweden has around 10,000,000 people and 10,000 cases and almost 900 deaths, one case per thousand people, closer to 88 deaths per million people. That is not good.
North Carolina has about the same population, just over 4,300 cases (half of Sweden), but only 87 deaths (one tenth as many as Sweden), and only 9 deaths per million people.
That tells us what the cost of doing nothing is, so far around the shut down would have saved around 800 lives in Oklahoma or far more had we done nothing.
Some Oklahoma cities are over reacting and going way past what is reasonable or Constitutional. Wearing masks is great, banning outdoor activities where people can be social distanced is not a good idea and likely illegal. Threatening to fine people for driving through your town without a face bask? You will get sued if you write a single ticket.
But most cities and counties are practicing common sense and doing fine. People in the grocery stores the week before were not wearing masks, the day after Trump tells us we should wear a mask nearly everyone was wearing a mask. I saw two people not wearing masks and the look on their face was priceless. They were scared, shocked, eyes wide open and looking at everyone but them wearing protection. I guessed that they were covid deniers or just someone that wasn't online or watching TV. They were terrified and wondering why everyone but themselves was wearing masks.
