Trump 2020

Trump 2020

We at Sooner Tea Party rarely delve into national politics, believing that cleaning up the state and local mess is as important as what affects us at the federal government level. Trump was an exception, we came out early and loud in our support for Donald Trump's run for office. Initial reactions weren't positive but once we heard the guy speak we knew he was a breath of fresh air, politically incorrect, and Trump was willing to go against the donor class that run nearly everything in the U.S.. There was no doubt that he would win from the moment he entered the race.

Trump has done extremely well. He had some worried over his progressive statements in the past, his support for the bailouts, his donations to the Clintons, his support for single payer health insurance and Planned Parenthood, and he was a recent convert from being a Democrat to being a Republican.

Forging A Judge's Signature

Pre Trial Release Program Employees Forging a Judges' Signature?

"Bullshit, this is bullshit, I didn't sign this! This is my signature but I didn't sign it"

was heard during an outburst from Special Judge Kevin McCray in Oklahoma County during the arraignment docket. The McCray was referring to a release on a defendant on criminal charges in Oklahoma County bearing his name.

Then McCray went on to accuse county pre trial release employees of some plot to issue illegal releases with his signature and stated from the bench "Someone is going to jail for a very long time."

Our curiosity was peaked and we wanted to know more about these releases and if the folks at the Oklahoma County Courthouse following state law when they release people from jail on a pinky promise to appear in court?

Freshman Class Takes Lobby Junkets To Further National Popular Vote

Special Interest Junkets and Freshmen Legislators Against Oklahoma Values

Freshmen Republicans Rep. Avery Frix, Rhonda Baker, and Kevin McDugle.

Muskogee area politico Jamison Faught covered a story last week by Brianna Bailey of the Frontier on a liberal group enticing several freshmen Republican legislators to attend meetings in New York City. Freshmen Republicans Rep. Avery Frix, Rhonda Baker, and Kevin McDugle were the attendees along with McDugle's latest girl friend, allegedly the one that he is accused of adultery with in his bitter divorce. The liberal group Institute for Research on Presidential Elections spent about $2000.00 per official to send them to New York City to attend the event on changing the Electoral College to a national popular vote.

Faught's story adds much to the Frontier's story as he is the one that tied in Rhonda Baker and Kevin McDugle as neither of the two had filed with the Ethics Commission within the 30 day deadline from the trip.

Doerflinger Busted Again!

Preston Doerflinger Busted!
Will a Second Mug Shot be Coming Soon?

OSDH CFO Michael Romero quit last week after a confrontation with Preston Doerflinger, the interm head of the Oklahoma State Department of Health. There are state and FBI investigations going on over a massive shortfall of money at the department.

Romero rightly blamed Doerflinger in his resignation letter for lashing out in anger at an employee for just doing his job. Doerflinger was upset that Romero's memo told a different story than another OSDH employee had told the Grand Jury. Of course that testimony is required to be confidential until after the Grand Jury has finished its work, leaving both the employee that testified and Doerflinger facing potential charges of contempt of court. Not only that, the revelation that Doerflinger is "managing" or manipulating Grand Jury testimony is itself certainly likely to be illegal.

The Pruitt & Jones Feud

Scott Pruitt and Gary Jones are a Feuding!

Sooner Politics' David Van took on the long simmering spat between State Auditor Gary Jones and former AG Scott Pruitt over the EPA funds mismanagement scandal at the Tar Creek cleanup site.   Jones had protested the sealing of the audit performed by his office around 2014 but refused to release the audit himself because Pruitt had sealed it. Credibility is on the line for both men and the outcome will be one of them going down, either as a failed candidate (really Jones is just looking for a job and using the race to get one) or Scott Pruitt is toppled as EPA head and even faces potential prison time should some of the allegations turn out to be true.

Tar Creek is a 40 square mile EPA clean up site in North Eastern Oklahoma around the Picher area. They mined lead and zinc there for decades, leaving behind vast chat piles and contaminated soil and towns. People were bought out by the EPA fund, handled by a trust called LICRAT, Lead Impacted Communities Relocation Assistance Trust, set up by the Oklahoma legislature in 2004. The waste and corruption soon bloomed and eventually the feds demanded an investigation. Then AG Drew Edmondson was said to have blocked the first investigation but in 2011 Gary Jones was asked to do an audit of the Trust, a two year project, that was completed in early 2014 and handed over to Scott Pruitt. Pruitt turned around and gave LICRAT a copy of the audit, then sealed the audit for all others. The investigation was buried at that point.

OCPAC Splintering Over Fisher Campaign

OCPAC Splintering Over Support for Dan Fisher?
We received a few responses last week on the OCPAC involvement and endorsement of the Dan Fisher campaign. Generally people respond back when they are pretty angry about a story but this one is one of the half dozen that told us we were spot on in our appraisal of OCPAC's support for Dan Fisher:

"All we hear from Charlie's old group: Abortion, abortion, abortion and vote for fisher. They have lost their edge. "
Or this one:
"Michener is with AHA. They may as well be one in the same. While we support Rose Day, I'm nervous about going. Apparently, the AHA goons started a Dead Rose Day on the same day. Seems like they're all hijacking the BGCO's day."

Fisher Campaign Communication and Stategy Head Calls the Exposure a "Train Wreck"and Says the Exposed Messages are De-Legitimizing the Campaign
Last week the Dan Fisher gubernatorial campaign suffered a major "train wreck" according to one of its more controversial staffers in a Facebook Live video post. The video was a plea to a pro life activist to remove a series of private Facebook messages between Jeff Durbin and the Dan Fisher campaign. After Durbin became suspicious he realized that he was messaging with others posing as Dan Fisher including the controversial cult leader of AHA, T. Russell Hunter who is the Head of Communications and Strategy for the Dan Fisher campaign.
