Trump 2020
We at Sooner Tea Party rarely delve into national politics, believing that cleaning up the state and local mess is as important as what affects us at the federal government level. Trump was an exception, we came out early and loud in our support for Donald Trump's run for office. Initial reactions weren't positive but once we heard the guy speak we knew he was a breath of fresh air, politically incorrect, and Trump was willing to go against the donor class that run nearly everything in the U.S.. There was no doubt that he would win from the moment he entered the race.
Trump has done extremely well. He had some worried over his progressive statements in the past, his support for the bailouts, his donations to the Clintons, his support for single payer health insurance and Planned Parenthood, and he was a recent convert from being a Democrat to being a Republican.
From the nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court on Trump has enraged the liberals and the RINO Republicans alike. He already appointed 12 excellent federal appellate judge in his first year, announced the departure from the Paris climate accord, rolled back the Clean Power Plan that gave the EPA massive power, revoked 22 old regulations for each new regulation imposed and announced another 448 new deregulation targets and only 131 new regulation targets for the coming year.
Then there is the massive tax reform bill that also took out the individual mandate in Obama Care. Companies are investing in factories and new equipment, announcing bonuses and new hires, even lowering prices due to the cost savings in taxes placed upon these corporations. Obama eara guidelines for colleges have been rescinded, allowing due process to work on sexual assault allegations at colleges.
Trump's foreign policy is also excellent, turning back the power to make military decisions on the battlefield, refusing to micromanage the generals, and ISIS has been nearly eliminated. North Korea is showing signs of moderation as well including talks with South Korea over a joint participation in the upcoming Olympic Games. No, little rocket man is still in charge, but once the regime starts softening up the North Korean people might well just deal with little rocket man on their own. Iran is on the defensive again as the Obama appeasement model is repealed and tough, hard line practices are put in place. The terrorists were enraged when Trump declared the capitol of Israel to be Jerusalem, after twenty years or more of waffling by past presidents and extensions of waivers to prevent that. Palestinian and Pakistan funding has been frozen too until both agree to crack down on the multitude of terrorists in their lands.
Trump is harsh and hits hard when attacked. Instead of being repulsed by that a lot of Americans are rejoicing that we now have a president with balls of brass. Conservatives have been bullied for over a hundred years and the RINO brand of conservative politicians have no more hold on Trump than they do on their own common sense. Trump does reach out on occasion to the liberals and offers compromise that some conservatives aren't happy with, but so far Trump has been shown to be merely negotiating and by offering a more than fair compromise and the nation seeing reasonable compromise thrown back in Trump's face... well... Trump is winning the war for public opinion.
The stock market is thriving at record levels, unemployment is at record low levels including historic Hispanic and black unemployment rates. Incomes are up, housing is up, illegal immigration is headed down, and businesses are bringing back billions of dollars hoarded overseas to invest in America.
And on a personal note, I might be able to afford health insurance again this year after seeing Obama Care drive my costs from under $200.00 a month to over $1000.00 per month before I was driven from the market.
