David Prater's Cup Runneth Over
Senator Bryce Marlatt received well deserved sexual battery charges on Wednesday for kissing and groping a taxi driver during a booze fueled spree across Oklahoma City a few months back. Adding to that is the end of the investigation into Mary Fallin Aide Travis Brauer on charges of taking upskirt pictures druing a legislative meeting at the State Capitol. You gotta feel for the guy though, what are the chances that Fallin thought such antics were "cute" and encouraged such horse play from one of her boy toys?
Brauer allegedly took up-skirt pictures or video of a liberal activist at the meeting by laying his phone on the floor near her feet, an act that was noticed by several people and reported at the end of the meeting. The chick wasn't particularly attractive either, few liberal activists are, so it must have been the act of humiliation and getting away with it that churned Brauer's butter. Right there again with typical Fallin behavior.
What? Do we need to run this guy for a Senate District? Or will the Oklahoman hire him to replace the amateur gynecological photographer they lost a few years back?
And proving that the apple never falls far from the tree, Brauer managed to "lose" the phone after being asked to turn the phone in to investigators but not before downloading the contact info into another phone and running numerous searches on phone data manipulation and wiping data from a phone. The 256 page state police report lays out a convincing case of a guy that probably committed felonies in order to avoid a misdemeanor conviction for being a pervert. Worse the guy posted Snapchat photos on May 23rd with captions cursing the House of Representatives and managed to drag a friend into the fray, Oklahoma Municipal League lobbyist Missy Dean who was foolish enough to represent him at a hearing. Oklahoma Board of Dentistry executive director Susan Rogers and OHP liaison officer Captain Randy Rogers were also implicated in warning Brauer that an investigation was underway. Susan Rogers went on to represent Brauer and refused to hand over the phone allegedly used in the up skirt photos.
Why all the concern over a low level flunky/Fallin boy toy? Because the lobbyists spend vast sums recruiting staff members at all levels of government in order to have spies and sources inside government agencies. Gotta protect their investment and prevent the pervert from spilling the beans if it gets too hot.
Really, should we be prosecuting idiocy like this? Yeah, the guy is a pervert if he was doing what he is accused of doing, but it pales in comparison to what legislative leadership and Mary Fallin is doing to the citizens of Oklahoma. I believe that Fallin is less concerned about looking like an idiot for hiring such a guy and is willing to throw him or anyone else under the bus in order to raise taxes and show the donor class that she can deliver the goods. Not unlike Hillary Clinton her political career is over and the best she can do is show the donor class that she has no shame about screwing over the citizens and is worthy of a position in D.C.. Not with the Trump administration though, Donald met with her and within minutes was telling his aide that they needed to keep looking. The word is that the statement was whispered loud enough that even Fallin had to have heard it across the table.
