  Back in June 2015 Oklahoma GOP Chairman Randy Brogdon created a fire storm by posting an old meme post that talked about the National Park Service asking people not to feed wild animals to avoid them becoming dependent upon the handouts and not foraging for themselves.

  The outrage was started by liberal Republicans sharing the post and proclaiming outrage and the post went viral and national condemnation ensued. Even the Tulsa World jumped on the issue with both feet. Brogdon sort of apologized, many including most Republicans thought he shouldn't have apologized and that the post was more right than wrong.

  Another fine example of how criminals are going to respond to changing felony offenses to misdemeanors and shortening jail times is our next poster boy for criminal justice reform, Lewis Ernest Crystal, a.k.a.:

  Crystal's life of crime began in 1992 with an arrest for possession of drugs with intent to distribute and using a firearm in a felony. He was given a total of four years and sent to prison in January of 2013 and released in December of that same year. He was released with three years of probation which would have ended in 1997. Instead Crystal was arrested on Second Degree Rape in 1995, convicted in December of 1995, and sentenced to nine years of prison. While out awaiting trial and conviction Crystal committed other crimes in 1997 which led to a lengthy prosecution, he wasn't sent to prison until February 1999 and that nine year sentence got him released in September of 2002.

  Back around the start of February we wrote about this case where Oklahoma County Treasurer Butch Freeman's influence appears to be preventing a child porn case from being prosecuted. Butch Freeman's son Forest Nelson Freeman III was arrested in December of 2017 on aggravated possession of child porn after local officers tracked him down from a file sharing site. During the initial search of the home Forest Freeman ordered his wife not to give out any passwords but after the devices were seized and the passwords forced hundreds of images of child porn were allegedly found on Forest Nelson Freeman's computers.

  Poor Pierre Wilson...the Oklahoman would have us believe that he was sitting in jail for months because of an "alleged" forged check and that the poor mistreated Wilson would get to see a judge quickly so he could "straighten it out". No, he wasn't a criminal, things just needed to be re arranged, straightened out, things put in the correct perspective so he could go free.

But thanks to TEEM, former Speaker Kris Steele's publicly and privately funded "non profit" Wilson is out of jail without paying an attorney and without having a mean old bail bondsman watching over him to ensure he shows up for court. Wilson is now "allegedly" working for a golf course and as a server at a "upscale North OKC restaurant". Really, a server? As in handling credit cards kind of server? What could go wrong....

The idea is that a veteran is used to conflict and willing to fight more than the average law degree holder. And they will certainly understand those who went through the service better than a kid that spent his years in college instead of defending the country. They are more likely to perform under pressure and to be reliable.

Last week we wrote about one Judge McCray who exploded in anger on the bench over what he thought was a forged signature on a pre trial release form, and it was his signature. But the judge has his own problems now as a complaint has been filed against him for releasing drug trafficking suspects on OR bonds through the pre trial release program, in violation of state law.

Worse, McCray ordered a bond reinstated after what appears to be an illegal bond filing. With the Assistant D.A. Standing right in front of him, McCray ordered a man released after being shown a California court document stating that the insurance company that underwrote the bond, one Lexington National Insurance Company agreed to reinstate the bond. The bond had already been forfeited by the bail bondsman here in Oklahoma after the criminal had refused to show up for court. Then after an arrest warrant had been issued, the defendant shows up with a lawyer and what appears to be a faked document.

After the story about Rep. Kevin McDugle flaunting his home wrecker at official events, one Tracy Rogers according to some sources, several emails arrived with a link to a very disturbing video posted on YouTube by McDugle.

The video preaches to men about "How to treat your bride" and frankly it is disgusting to watch if you already know the details about McDugle's sordid affair and the rejection of his wife and children to take up with a woman that he was rumored to have found on AshleyMadison.com. The woman might or might not be or had been on the website but we know for certain that McDugle had an account at www.AshleyMadision.com. McDugle actually confirmed that fact but claimed it was an "old" account. The website is a Canadian owned site that offers married people or people in a relationship a place to find "dates". When the 2015 data leak occurred the full details were dumped into the internet, names, addresses, date joined, profile, everything ever collected including credit card info was made public.

We obtained a copy of the massive files and sorted out the 5000 Oklahoma records and went through them one by one and not only was Kevin McDugle's name present, the address matched up with state voting records. At the time it was thought that perhaps McDugle had signed up to check on one of his ex wives but with the revelation of his affair and impending divorce it became clear that McDugle might have other reasons for having an account at AshleyMadision.com. At one point McDugle became aware that we knew so he called up and threatened a lawsuit but upon being reminded that it was true his only remark was that it was an "old" account.

Of course McDugle was one of many Oklahoma legislators that had joined the extra marital affair website and lawyers and various other public officials and government employees.   We decided that the best use of the material was to bring up that we owned a copy and let the guilty ones simmer in anticipation in the hope that their voting records and personal behavior might moderate.  Once or twice a candidate for office might be taken aside and asked how he was going to deal with the leaking of his account information. 

Last week, after the story was published with the photo of McDugle flaunting his hoochie momma at a fund raiser McDugle posted on Facebook claiming he was being blackmailed and threatened over his vote on the massive tax increase. While we doubt that either was true, after all who would believe an adulterer, there is no doubt that McDugle will be facing a challenger in his June primary.

On Monday we witnessed a day of sanity in Oklahoma as the State Chamber of Commerce tax increase plan, named "Step Up Oklahoma" went down in flames. The plan was widely labeled "Step On Oklahoma" for the massive .8 billion dollar tax increases contained in the bill. Without a doubt the donor class pulled every trick in the book and pulled in media favors in order to push their agenda but to no avail as the bill failed by 13 votes needed to pass a tax increase. SQ 640 worked as it was intended to work, defeating a 51% majority from raising taxes.

The revelations covering domestic abuse in the Doerflinger household are not new; a post card back in 2013 surfaced during a GOP Party Chairman race that outed the allegations but it wasn't until an online news investigative news group called The Frontier did some digging that the facts hit the mainstream media.

Doerflinger it appears liked to choke bit*ches... uh, his wife. Maybe he is polishing his image with the black, Hispanic, and white trash demographics for a run for office? Police responded to a 911 call from his wife who profusely thanked the officers for showing up but later refused to press charges against Doerflinger for abuse including choking her in the laundry room during the confrontation over Doerflinger's exposed extramarital affair. Actually Doerflinger was alleged to have choked her twice and taken the phone away from her the first time she tried to call the police.

Well here we are at the end of the first week of the regular session for the Oklahoma State Legislature for 2018 and where do we find ourselves? They are still trying to pass a massive tax increase on the citizens of this state. We can only guess that they want that extra cash that you'll get back from Uncle Sam's tax cuts are needed to fill the pockets of all those rich folks who are masquerading as a grass roots organization. That has to be one of the biggest jokes we've heard in a long while.

On December 5^th the son of Oklahoma County Treasurer Butch Freeman was arrested for the possession and distribution of child porn along with violation of the Computer Crimes Act yet the arrest doesn't appear in the OSCN.net court records search.

There were two old arrests that appear to belong to the son, Forest Nelson Freeman III, both in the late eighties, one for bogus check (not bounced check) and the other was a mix of second degree burglarly charges and possession of stolen property. Is it the same man? Date of birth match and the town and zip code match. Both were dismissed, after restitution in one of the cases, and after payment of fines and costs in the other case, paid for by what appears to be Butch Freeman himself.

Freeman worked as the technology director at the Choctaw-Nicoma Park School System and we know that one of the Freeman son's or a son in law was responsible for programming voting machines at the Oklahoma County Election board.

Oklahoma is awash with feel good liberals, libertarians, or just plain ignorant people that want to see the criminal justice system gutted under the impression that we send too many people to prison. California tried this already in 2014, after all the states are the laboratories for the federal government where new ideas are tried out, right? Except in California Proposition 47 has lead to massive new problems for society.

Prop 47 in 2014 did like Oklahoma did at the last general election, it dropped a lot of crimes down to misdemeanors such as shoplifting, grand theft, receiving stolen property, forgery, fraud, and bad checks among many, as long as the crimes were under $950.00, Oklahoma of course put it at $1000.00. Thieves learned to plan their crimes just under that limit per day to prevent felony arrests, so even if he is busted a small fine or a few days in jail is all it costs him. DNA isn't collected as these crimes are no longer felonies, making it that much harder to clear old serious crimes like rape and murder. And of course California is like Oklahoma, no one is going to jail on their first few offenses.

  Last week we wrote of the growing schism in OCPAC over the takeover of OCPAC by rabid AHA supporters including the leader of OCPAC, John Michener and how it has driven lower attendance and in general much controversy within the group. What we didn't say was that we knew that OCPAC was being forced to postpone their annual awards dinner due to the lack of ticket sales. That's right, for the first time in their near 30 year history the group has had to cancel their major annual event due to lack of interest.

  OCPAC's John Michener of course claimed it was "scheduling conflicts" with the award winners. The winners of the award are only a handful, Nathan Dahm, Josh Breecheen, Jason Murphey, Tom Gann, Rick West, Chuck Strom, and Tommy Hardin. The two top winners are OCPAC regulars and a Friday night on the first week of session anyone is going to have scheduling conflicts?
