Save Indians From Themselves
You will remember Dollens from last week on the bill that would put a luxury suite in all public and some private buildings for adult disabled people, costing well in excess of $100,000 per room. Now Dollens wants to save the Indian women from other Indians, through HB 3345 “Ida’s Law”.
“The measure directs the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to create the Office of Liaison for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons to work with state, tribal and federal law enforcement agencies on missing persons and homicide cases involving American Indian individuals. The Office is to develop best practices protocol for law enforcement response, assist families, tribal agencies and others in using NamUs; assist victims’ families in navigating state and federal district court cases; coordinate with other state offices to develop training and education on missing and murdered indigenous persons issues; and facilitate trainings for law enforcement and the public on issues relating to missing and murdered indigenous persons. The Office must include a missing persons specialist that has significant experience working with tribal communities.”
Oh wow, and if you read the propaganda, uh, I mean news articles and studies on this issue Indian women are either murdered or assaulted ten times the rate of other races.
And as always, when you read the stories they use in their articles you find out otherwise, that it is just an attempt to funnel more tax dollars to non profits in the name of “save the _____________”.
From one of their own propaganda articles on NPR we find that they are relying upon a twelve year old study that says that black women suffer more murders and assaults than Indian women by percentage and that both groups suffer more crimes than white women. And sad to say, most people with experience and a brain would say, that is about right due to the tendencies of violence in other cultures.
And in SOME counties where the majority or even all of the land is under tribal rule the rates of rape and assault and other crimes are indeed ten times the urban areas.
Then we learn from reading the study that an intimate partner is the most likely attacker on both assault and rape. Again few would disagree that this is to be expected.
And from the 2012 government study quoted by NPR we learn that 60% of all Indian women live in urban areas outside tribal jurisdiction, the article states that this is up to 70% currently.
The federal government prosecutes nearly all violent crime on Indian land. No one is going to say it is difficult in getting the feds to prosecute someone. But that is 30% of the problem or more accurately, 30% of the population, the Indian women living with the rest of us have the same access to law enforcement that whites and blacks do.
Now we don't have the latest statistics on off reservation crime to Indian reservation crime but we really don't need it because the propaganda states that only 30% of the Indian women live on Indian land and that the crime rate is 2.5 to 10 times higher. That alone says that the real problem is on the Indian lands.
The other leg of this stool is that the perpetrator is overwhelmingly likely to be an intimate partner.
The third leg of the stool is who can investigate and prosecute crime on Indian land? The Indians, up to one year in jail and $5000 fine, and the federal government.
So if it is Indian men raping and beating Indian women, overwhelmingly on Indian lands, what in the hell is spending state money going to accomplish? Other than getting Dollens re elected?
Second question, if blacks experience higher rape and assaults than Indian and I don't think you are going to find a lot of blacks living on Indian reservation, why would we carve out special spending and protections for Indian women?
Third question, if we are not supposed to pass special laws for special people, how is it constitutional to put Indian women being raped, beaten, and even murdered by Indian men on Indian land ahead of other races of women? With the smaller population of these minorities, vastly more white women will be a victim of crime than either blacks or Indians.
Let's all agree that this is simply liberal virtue signaling at the state and local level designed to pander to feminist and put money in the pockets of non profits to do nothing but soak up tax dollars. Let the Indians worry about their own citizens.
Past that, it looks like pure slander upon Indian men although they take great pains not to blame the Indian men for raping and assaulting Indian women. But if only 30% of them live on Indian land and the rate is 2.5 to 10 times the usual rape/assault rate, who else could they be blaming.
Dollens is a liberal twat pandering to liberals because he has a challenger in the primary. His legislation, all of it, needs to be voted down or simply not heard. Especially not HB 3345.
