County Official's Son Evades Child Porn Charges (so far)

Butch Freeman's Son, Forest Nelson Freeman III,
Still Uncharged Despite Aggravated Child Porn Possession Arrest in December of 2017

Is Daddy's Influence Protecting the Son?

Back around the start of February we wrote about this case where Oklahoma County Treasurer Butch Freeman's influence appears to be preventing a child porn case from being prosecuted. Butch Freeman's son Forest Nelson Freeman III was arrested in December of 2017 on aggravated possession of child porn after local officers tracked him down from a file sharing site. During the initial search of the home Forest Freeman ordered his wife not to give out any passwords but after the devices were seized and the passwords forced hundreds of images of child porn were allegedly found on Forest Nelson Freeman's computers.

The arrest complaint and accompanying news stories say that Freeman's computer held these hundreds of images of young girls between the ages of two years old and twelve years old, making him a true pedophile if found guilty, assuming he is ever charged and prosecuted for the criminal activity.

The weekend that the warrant was out for Freeman's arrest family members admitted that other family members were hiding Freeman from the law so that he didn't have to spend the weekend in county jail. Freeman was released on $50,000 bond the following Monday.

Since that day Oklahoma County Prosecutor David Prater has had two chances to file charges, with the arrest being featured on the arraignment calendars but as of this writing no actual criminal charges have been filed. Once charges are filed the case will appear on the OSCN.net website but as of now the only items on Forest Nelson Freeman are an old protective order filed by his wife and a series of charges for second degree burglary and another charge of using hot checks to obtain merchandise, all of which appear to have been dismissed at the request of the state with restitution mentioned in at least one of the cases.

Oklahoma County D.A. David Prater appears to need some encouragement before he files these charges. Their office phone number is (405) 713-1600

We will continue to follow the story until the case has been either prosecuted or disimissed by Prater.  At this point the bail bond has been released or exonerated as no charges have been filed.  Should Forest Nelson Freeman III be prosecuted he will have to be re arrested and the bail bond refiled as at this point Freeman is walking around a free man with no criminal charges against him.
