Rep. Christian/DPS Fight Heats Up

Former Trooper and current Legislator, Mike Christian
Rep. Christian/DPS Fight Heats Up

They say that politics makes strange bed fellows and how true that is.  We are seeing conservatives pairing up with the corrupt Oklahoma County D.A. to go after Democrat John Whetsel and we also saw conservative legislators reaching out in order to stop illegal lobbying and waste of tax money by the state troopers association.
Part of the problem is that A.G. Scott Pruitt is refusing to do his job while brown nosing the Fallin administration.  And even though Rep. Christian is a retired state trooper he and the trooper association have not seen eye to eye on many issues.
Below is the letter that Rep. Mike Christian sent to Oklahoma County D.A. David Prater:

REAL ID Legislation Stalls

REAL ID Legislation Stalls
The fight over SB 1362 is looking good.   Although Rep. "Lying Leslie" Osborn got the bill heard and passed in the A & B Committee the enacting clause was stricken and thus sent to Conference Committee.   As Thursday was the last day to hear legislation on the House floor it would seem that without a House Floor vote it can't pass.  Yet in Conference Committee almost anything can happen so we will keep an eye on the legislation.
Rep. Christian did drop out as the author of the bill, handing it over to Lying Leslie Osborn.

Leslie Osborn's Three Big Lies

The Three Big Lies Used to Sell REAL ID

Rep. Leslie Osborn continues to use three big lies to champion SB 1362:
  1.      You can’t fly on an airplane without a federal REAL ID card
  2.      REAL ID stops terrorism
  3.      REAL ID is lawful
Osborn is a total wreck as a legislator, dropping out early after a disastrous attempt at the Speaker’s position.  Now she is trying to score some points with the donor class by attempting to force the REAL ID legislation upon Oklahomans despite our rejecting it in 2008.
Now lets take apart Leslie Osborn’s lies one by one.
  1.        You can’t fly without a REAL ID card.  Here are a list of acceptable ID cards for air travel:   Driver's licenses or other state photo identity cards issued by Department of Motor Vehicles (or equivalent), U.S. passport, U.S. passport card, DHS trusted traveler cards (Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST), U.S. military ID (active duty or retired military and their dependents, and DoD civilians), Permanent resident card, Border crossing card, DHS-designated enhanced driver's license, Airline or airport-issued ID (if issued under a TSA-approved security plan), Federally recognized, tribal-issued photo ID, HSPD-12 PIV card, Foreign government-issued passport, Canadian provincial driver's license or Indian and Northern Affairs Canada card, Transportation worker identification credential, Immigration and Naturalization Service Employment Authorization Card (I-766).  And if you show up at the airport with absolutely no identification?  No problem according to the TSA:   “In the event you arrive at the airport without valid identification, because it is lost or at home, you may still be allowed to fly. The TSA officer may ask you to complete a form to include your name and current address, and may ask additional questions to confirm your identity. If your identity is confirmed, you will be allowed to enter the screening checkpoint. You may be subject to additional screening.”.  So the simple fact is that NO identification is needed to travel within the U.S.   Here is a website that covers the legal aspects including court decisions.    The TSA and the feds would be in a mess if they can’t intimidate the vast majority of the traveling public so they continue to push the lies that Rep. Osborne is parroting.
  2.       Osborn’s next lie is that REAL ID stops terrorism.   It does not, documents reveal nothing about evil intent and terrorists will always find a way to obtain fake documents, either counterfeit or from corrupt officials.  With the fall of the Syrian government we saw countless regional offices fall into the hands of terrorists and even the Middle Eastern governments themselves are sympathetic to terrorists and will provide documentation.  The simple fact is that no middle eastern identify document is safe or reliable.
  3.       The REAL ID act is lawful.  Nowhere in our U.S. Constitution is there language allowing for a federal ID card or identity system so therefore the act is in violation of the Fourth Amendment:  “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.” . REAL ID requirement would limit the travel between states, in opposition of Article IV, Section 2 of the Constitution and the First Amendment.
The REAL ID act is not about the drivers license; it is about the data base and sharing ALL of the state information with the other 50 states, with the feds, and with dozens of other governments and NGO organizations around the world.  It is a privacy nightmare and facilitates identity theft.

Crocodiles

Where are the burquas when one is really needed?

At least that is what some of these legislators remind me of, hiding in the slime, just out of sight under the murky water, waiting for their prey to come down to get a drink.   Senator Stephanie "Jihad Jane" Bice is trying to tighten the noose around Oklahoma tax payers for purchase made OUTSIDE of Oklahoma.

Sen. Stephanie Bice
Senate Bill 1301 would place an huge regulatory burden on out of state companies, requiring them to send each Oklahoma customer a statement telling them the annual purchases and the amount of tax that is due to the state of Oklahoma.  Never mind that the U.S. Supreme Court has already knocked down the same such nonsense, calling it against free interstate trade.

But the Senate has already passed Jihad Jane's bill and so has a House subcommittee.   Bice believes that Oklahomans ought to cough up an additional 150 million per year in taxes despite the items being purchased out of state and from non Oklahoma companies.  Jihad Jane is under the impression that the citizen's money is her money.

A Letter from a Reader

A few weeks ago someone asked a really good question in a message to the Sooner Tea Party.
From John Greening:
" Not much to disagree with there, Al. You guys also took a stand against the National Popular Vote, if memory serves. And you personally, at great personal cost, won a battle for all of us with regard to the first Amendment.
So let me ask you this: Why does it seem like the Chamber is even more powerful now than, say, ten years ago? There was so much talk about being Constitutional Conservatives a few years back, so why are we back to this Chambercrat business as usual stuff? And how do we get back to that zeal we had back in 2009, when I led the Invocation at the July 4th STP rally at the Capitol?"

Real ID Bill Belongs to Jeff Hickman and Mike Christian

SB 1362 was put on hold last week thanks to Rep. John Bennett but the author transferred the legislation to the full A&B committee where it passed 19 to 6.    Holding the line were Bennett, Billy, Johnson, Russ, Sears, and Wesselhoft

Rep. Mike Christian
Stabbing Oklahoma privacy in the back and furthering identity theft were    Brown, Casey,Coody (A), Cox, Hoskin,  Inman , Martin,  McCall, McCullough, McDaniel (R), Morrissette,      Nelson, Ortega, Osborn, Ownbey,  Peterson,  Rousselot,  Sherrer , and  Wright

Earl Sears initially agreed not to hear the bill but Speaker Hickman and Gov. Fallin applied pressure on him and he folded and placed the bill on the schedule.

An Interview with Gary Richardson

Few people in Oklahoma know the problem, or maybe better put, are willing to talk about the problem with the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) like attorney Gary Richardson.  Gary had ran for Governor once as an Independent and has remained the most knowledgeable source for Turnpike information here in the state.

Gary had spoken before an activist group at a rally at the Capitol on the 16th of March and I asked him if I could interview him about that talk and other aspects of the Turnpike Authority.

Oklahoma County Court Clerk Race Vote for the Democrat, Please!

Rick Warren won the primary and faces Anastasia Pitman in the special election on Tuesday.  Pitman is a Democrat but boy, her opponent Rick Warren is a complete mess!  His real name is Richard Warren Jr. and a look at the OSCN.net court records shows some really ugly things about this guy and his prowess as a citizen and a "business man".

Wagoner County Sheriff Indictment Innocent Man Indicted or Corruption?

A 2014 civil asset forfeiture turned into a grand jury indictment o Wagoner County Sheriff Bob Colbert and one of his captains but the case is far from being clear at this point.

Colbert and Captain Jeff Gragg were indicted on three felony counts after rejecting a plea deal to resign and plead guilty to a misdemeanor.  The felony counts state that both men conspired to accept a bribe or conspired to commit extortion in exchange for releasing two men after a felony arrest for drug charges.

Troubling New Development in the Lavoy Finicum Shooting

We predicted that the Oregon standoff would not end well and we also kept quiet in the aftermath of the killing of Lavoy Finicum, waiting for the authorities to investigate the matter.  Initially the shooting was justified by state investigators, then information came out about the FBI shooters lying and covering up some of the shots fired.

One of the videos at the links above syncs the cell phone video taken inside the truck with the FBI helicopter video but they suspend the inside video shortly before the truck hits the snow bank and stops.  Finicum is shown outside the vehicle with his hands held out to his sides before reaching for his left side, giving the state troopers an excuse to execute him.  The investigation claimed that there was a 9mm pistol in Finicum's left jacket pocket.

Help! I’m a Drunk Running for Office and I need my Court Records sealed!

Once again we see how corrupt Oklahoma County officials can be after Oklahoma County Clerk Carolynn Caudill asks a judge to erase her court records for DUI.   Back in 2013 she was arrested after being found in a heavily damaged car, parked on a lawn on North McKinley Ave.    She managed to get a plea deal, her DUI charges were dismissed in 2014, and now she wants to cleanse all court records of the arrest and accepting the plea deal.

Now this POS is actually a "Republican" that has served six terms as County Clerk and is facing a primary challenge on June 28th so she wants the DUI expunged and the records sealed, claiming her privacy is being infringed and that there are "unwarranted adverse consequences" that outweigh the voter's right to know that she is a drunk.
