The Lankford Follies

WELCOME TO THE LANKFORD FOLLIES.
YOU SHOULD BE GLAD HE ISN’T RUNNING THE STATE GOP
THE WATCHMAN

When people elect a person to represent them in the U.S. House or Senate, we expect them to represent us fully despite their individual personal believes especially during the times of a national crisis. When they allow their own beliefs to interfere with the welfare of the people, they represent then other elements are involved. It could be just their own beliefs, or it could be money for their next campaign. That is not what we are here to decide. This article is on some of the various ways that Senator Lankford has made critical errors that do not represent the values of Oklahomans.

We begin with this video from July 3rd of this year where he is walking back a previous statement he made about getting rid of Columbus day. We are not going to argue the point with him except to say both him and all of those arguing for getting rid of it leave one particularly important fact out. There is scientific evidence that the Vikings discovered America a few centuries before Columbus.

We next found this article where Senator Lankford criticized the President on the way he separated children from parents. You can read the article here. It seems to us that anyone with any cursory idea of the situation would realize that the family separation policy was initiated by the Obama administration. It happened while Senator Lankford was in office. Maybe he should study some of the last administrations directives to give him a better understanding.

We next went to this site and looked at his Wikipedia page. There is a lot of good information on this page. You can get a lot of information on his background.

We then found this article that shows that the Senator is against gun control and raising taxes. Both those items we can agree with him on.

We next found this report card for 2019 on the Senator. One would say it looks good, however after sending 27 bills to committees and only having one bill become law, it is not so good. He should be able to do better than that after nine years in D.C.

We then came across this report from Open Secrets.org. This is a mish mash of personal and campaign finance reports. We will not validate the accuracy of these reports as the ranges indicated are far to wide to be accurate. We are aware of a better source but have chosen not to use it at this time.

We know that Senator Lankford is a Social Justice Warrior. He always has been. He let that side of him come at in this article from the New York Daily News where the Senator agreed with the radical leftist about changing the names of military bases named after Confederate Generals. We would suggest that the Senator read history more and he would find that those same Confederate Generals had illustrious careers in the Union Army prior to the Civil War. Do not ever change history to appease radicals.

The next article we found is almost to the point of being idiotic. You can see the article by opening this link. He is being called a celebrity. With all the appearances he makes on TV we guess he is. They estimate that his personal net worth is somewhere between $100 thousand and $1 million dollars. We reported in 2013 that his net worth had doubled to $225 thousand dollars. Surely, they could do better. They also indicated that he has a house in Texas. We are not sure if they are saying he lives there or not, but it is worth checking into.

We next came across an article that proves that Senator Lankford is not working for the citizens of Oklahoma. One would think that during a pandemic or plandemic, whichever you choose to call it, and an 11% unemployment rate in the state, our Washington delegation would fight to keep jobs away from foreign workers if you would open this link you will find a letter signed by seven Senators addressed to the President urging him not to cut the number of H-2A, H2B and H1B visas. We urge you to open the link and read the letter for yourself. We find it hard to believe that any of the Oklahoma Delegation would prefer foreign workers over the citizens of the state. There is only one reason and that is money.

In closing it is evident that Senator Lankford has chosen his Social Justice Warrior crusade over the welfare of the residence of the state he was elected to represent. Major corporations seek these workers because of their skills, and they do not have to pay them as much. The Senator has overstayed his welcome in D.C. It is time for him to be retired.
