Rep. Kannady Loses Caucus Vote To Replace Harold Wright

Is that a finger gun Chris? A Little Soon?  Don't Miss!
Representative Chris Kannady Gets Shot Down at Caucus Retreat
The man that would be the next Gene Stipe, that is how Christopher Kannady saw himself. And he had a meteoric rise until this spring when he was tainted with the allegations of sexual battery and before that Kannady had angered wide swaths of the Tall Building Crowd with attacks on legal reform and workers comp reforms.

And Kannady had made news bragging about being responsible for the dark money that took down the conservative legislators in 2018 and for orchestrating the liquor distributor that was so bold that he showed up at the Capitol dealing out huge campaign donation checks during session, something that would normally get a person arrested.

But on Monday at the three day Republican Caucus retreat Kannady's minion Josh West throws up a vote on a rule change, asking that the rules be changed to allow Kannady to challenge Pro Tem Harold Wright for his office. Kannady needed 52  to win, and on such a thing the vote is whipped and calculated before anyone dares to call a vote..

But Kannady was handed a blistering and humiliating loss, 36 votes for changing the rules, 24 votes against, far short of the needed 52 votes for a super majority. Several sources claimed that Kannady fled the room in a rage, then afterward attempted to twist arms on the freshmen legislators to get them to change their votes but to no avail.

In the end, our prediction is that Rep. Chris Kannady will indeed be remembered like Senator Gene Stipe, alone at the end, possibly sick and dying while facing prison, with his legacy shattered by shame and conviction of high crimes.
